M/y Amnesia

Printable Summary Information
Seal Superyacht Charters - M/y Amnesia

Amnesia, a converted Baltic Tug is an expedition type vessel that can face the rigours of an ocean voyage with an easygoing manner. Amnesia has eight well-appointed cabins and a vast deck area. This is a truly magnificent sea-going vessel.

Amnesia has undergone much work since her initial purchase by the current owner in January 2003.

Outlined below are some of the major improvements and servicing that have been undertaken since purchase to ensure proper function of all the mechanical and engineering components and to improve the ambience and comfort factor.

The entire sundeck has been properly faired and Flexi-teak decking laid on its surface to replace the outdoor all weather carpeting.

All tenders and toys have been upgraded and now include:

2 x 1100 GTX SeaDoo PWC’s
1 x Rigid Inflatable tender with 20Hp four stroke Honda outboard
1 x Rigid Inflatable tender with 90hp four stroke Honda outboard
1 x Noble Vee (7.4 mtr) sport fishing tender with 225hp four stroke Honda outboard, 20Hp four stroke Honda auxiliary

The interior guest cabins have all had hardwood flooring laid throughout to replace the carpet and all guest areas now match throughout.

Engineering has undergone major 5 & 10 year survey requirements in shipyard in Malta.

Main engine cylinder liners disassembled and calibrations recorded including crank pin, top end and bottom end measurements with crankshaft deflection readings.

Tail shaft, Rudder and Kort Nozzle were all completely disassembled and all clearances checked and calibrated. X-Ray and thickness measurements were taken of all hull platings and steel structuring. Annual service requirements have been carried out on the Main Engine and generators at NQEA shipyard in Cairns and they include: (the latest was October 2005)

1. Service all injectors
2. All valve and tappet clearances
3. Turbo charger service
4. Fuel delivery rack governor disassembled and rebuilt

At this time, the vessels antifouling was also refinished, a new boot stripe painted and the VPP blades and hub Completely disassembled. All seating surfaces have been totally re-ground, polished, and all new seals and o-rings fitted.

A new Cummins 75Kw generator was installed early 2005 to supply all ships power requirements. All three main circuit breakers for the ships power supply system from Generators 1 & 2 and the shore power supply have been replaced with new Tokima 400 amp de-rateable CB’s

The main 3 phase fire system and emergency pump has been replaced with a new unit and both of the 3 phase pumps for both black and grey water systems have been disassembled and rebuilt with all new genuine components.

Additional Fleet 77 communication equipment has been added and now includes; PABX TDA 30 multi-station intercom and incoming phone line system. Iridium satellite phone desk top and portable handset. Byru Asian Satellite communication phone unit.

The vessel has undergone quite extensive repainting and refurbishing of all external areas. This is by no means to be considered an extensive list of all the work that has been undertaken but illustrates that there have been many ongoing work projects to the vessel that have upgraded some of the out dated technology and improved the performance and added to the intrinsic value of the yacht.
